I have recently updated to IOS7 and the next surprise (after neat colors and shiny effects) was the battery drain.
Well, something must be done and you can mostly without jailbreak. I will add other tips once the jailbreak is released.
So here we go:
1. Turn off motion and parallax:
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion –> ON
2. Do not use dynamic background:
Settings -> Wallpapers & Brightness -> Choose Wallpaper -> Stills
3. Disable background apps updates:
Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh –> OFF
4. Turn off auto app updates:
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Automatic Downloads -> Updates –> OFF
5. Disable location services:
Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> OFF everything that you don’t use
6. Turn off frequent locations:
Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> Frequent Locations –> OFF
7. Quit any apps you do not use from the background:
Double Tap the home button and swipe up anything you do not need.
8. Turn Down Display Brightness:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and adjust it accordingly.
9. Turn Off Unnecessary Notifications & Push:
Settings -> Notifications -> For each unnecessary application choose “None”
10. Disable Mail Push and Set Fetch to Manual:
Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data -> Push -> OFF and Fetch -> Manually
11. Turn off Bluetooth if not needed:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and turn it off from there.
12. Turn off Wifi if not needed:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and turn it off from there.
13. Turn Off 3G if you do not use it:
Settings -> Cellular -> Enable 3G -> OFF
14. Turn LTE off if you do not use it:
Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Enable LTE -> OFF
